Today we’re back with the owner’s review of a 2022 BMW iX3. The electric revolution worldwide brought many EVs in Pakistan, including the i series from Dewan. This is the iX3, an electric version of the X3 which comes equipped with a 74 kWh lithium ion battery that pumps out 286hp and 400 nm of torque. In this review, the owner shares his experience of driving an electric SUV and briefs us about its features. Purchase Decision The owner previously drove a Toyota Fortuner and decided to switch to an electric SUV at the start of this year. First on his list was the infamous Audi E Tron, but his brother already had that, and its compromised range was a big turn-off. He then looked at the BMW iX3, which had a better range and service backup from Dewan. This unit was available for ready delivery, so he paid a premium for it and got it for around PKR 30 million. Range The company claims a range of 450 plus kilometers for the iX3; however, the owner gets around 350 kilometers easily within the city. This range is satisfactory for the owner as his commute is not much and the fact that E Tron only does around 200 kilometers makes this a deal breaker. Salient Features The iX3 comes with a host of features, including a Harmon Kardon sound system, adaptive headlamps, a heads-up display, a panoramic roof, driver assistance features like lane assist, collision warnings, a 360-degree camera, pedestrian detection, parking sensors, distance control, parking assist, etc. the infotainment system is the latest generation of idrive which has Apple Carplay and Android auto and a list of controls to access. M Package This iX3 has an optional M package which adds some frills, including M steering wheels, blue accents in the interior, and bigger M alloy wheels; the bumpers are more aggressive with black trims, which add a pinch of sportiness. Maintenance And Spare Parts Being an EV, the iX3 is almost maintenance free i.e., no oil or fluids replacement nor any kind of filters. The only thing that will need maintenance is the tyres, which come with run-flat tyres, which are very sensitive on rough roads; hence the car needs to be driven with precaution. Today we're back with the owner's review of a converted BMW M3 Competition. The F80 M3 debuted in 2014 with an in-line 6-cylinder engine but with two turbochargers this time. The standard M3 produces around 425hp, while this particular M3 Competition gets 444hp along with 550 nm of torque. This engine is configured with a 7-speed twin-clutch transmission delivering power to the rear wheels. In this review, the owner shares his conversion process and his experience driving this beamer in Pakistan. Project Initiation The owner was driving a standard 3 series and initially decided to put an M body kit and carbon fiber hood to enhance its looks. During this process, he thought, "why not properly convert this into an M3". He then started the conversion by initially working on it individually along with some friends. "We didn't have any idea of the time it would take or what it would cost", he added. Conversion As this was one of the first M3 conversions in Pakistan, the owner did not have any car to look up to. Generally, Mercedes conversions are pretty straightforward, but according to the owner, this was a hassle. The total conversion was completed in 28 months, and the owner learned a lot about the car through this process. Some electronics, including sensors and 360-degree cameras, are still in process as they've not fed in data of Pakistan's roads. The landed cost of this conversion came at around PKR 40 million. Fuel Average Although the question of fuel average is somewhat irrelevant in a performance sedan like this, the figures will surprise you. As per the owner. This M3 gives around 10 to 11 km/l within the city with a light foot which is astonishing. These figures will obviously drop if you want to enjoy its 444 horses. Ground Clearance Due to their low stance, most of these performance cars are a hassle to maneuver, especially on Pakistani roads. However, according to the owner, not once has the car scraped a speed breaker, even while going through it straight. The owner travels with multiple passengers, and he thinks that ground clearance has not been a problem. Maintenance The owner uses AMS or Liqui Moly for its engine oil with a viscosity of 0W-50. Oil and filters are changed every 5000 kilometers through a local dealership of his friend. In his opinion, maintenance is very simple, and the car has never proved unreliable. Watch Video

Today we're back with the owner's review of a 2019 BMW M5 Competition. In this review, the owner shares his experience of converting a 5 series into an M5 and briefs us about its specs and features. The F90 M5 is based on the G30 5 series, launched in 2017, and is still in production. This M5 Competition has a bit more power than the standard M5 pumping out 617 hp and 750 nm of torque from its 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8. This engine is configured with an 8-speed automatic transmission, delivering power to all four wheels. Performance Getting right into the performance, which is the main talking point of this car, this is the most powerful motor that BMW M has ever developed for a series production vehicle. As per the owner, a stock car does 0 to 100 in around 3 seconds; however, this particular car has been recently stage 2 tuned, which will enable it to decrease its 0 to 100 times further. This being the first M5 offered in all-wheel drive, it puts the power down really well upon acceleration, but it is still rear-wheel biased, giving it a genuine BMW feel. Modifications Despite the conversion from scratch, the owner has done some further modifications to this M5. Firstly, it has been Stage 2 tuned, increasing its power figures; additionally, the owner has installed trims like a trunk lip spoiler along with splitters at the bottom. The owner has also installed 20-inch Vossen alloy wheels instead of the stock rims and slightly lowered the car. Fuel Average As per the owner, the fuel average totally depends on the driving style. He once checked the maximum average by driving with a very light foot and even got 10 km/l. But it's almost inevitable not to push this car, so on average, it gives around 5 to 6 km/l within the city on hi-octane. Ground Clearance As per the owner, ground clearance is not an issue within Islamabad due to the paved roads and small speed breakers. However, he once took this car to Lahore, and it was a nightmare," Not once did it go over a speed breaker without scraping the ground", he added. Maintenance And Reliability As per the owner, he has kept several BMWs over the years, and they are very reliable if maintained regularly from the right places. According to him, this car has had no problems after its conversion and is trouble-free. He is very particular about the fuel he puts in and maintains the car only from the person who converted it. Maintenance cost is obviously heavy on the pocket as parts need to be imported, but otherwise, it is not a hassle. Including the do Price nor car, the 5 series whose chassis was used, conversion cost, parts, etc. the total cost of this M5 landed at about PKR 42,500,000.
