MG marvel R is the latest electric compact crossover SUV by MG Motors. It was unveiled in November 2020 at the Guangzhou Auto Show. The car is the successor of Roewe Marvel X. the MG Marvel R is an all-electric vehicle that comes with 5G technology, integrated into the car in collaboration with Huawei.

Currently, the MG Marvel R comes in 3 trims in Europe known as comfort, luxury and performance.

Exterior

The MG marvel R has a sleek and clean exterior with sharp lines and a minimalist design. The front end has LED daytime running lights housed inside an x-shaped layout. The LED headlights adorn the front in a rectangular module with sharp strokes, giving the car a fierce and modern look.

The rear of the car has LED tail lights joined by a strip of light running across the width of the vehicle. Below the taillights are the LED fog lamps. The rear screen comes with a rear wiper, and a high mounted LED brake light on a purposeful spoiler. The power tailgate can be opened automatically with a single touch. The roof in all three trims has an anti-pinch sunroof.

Interior

The interior of the MG Marvel R is comfortable and luxurious. The comfort trim comes with a black interior wrapped in polyurethane, while the luxury and performance trims both have leather interiors. The driver seat is 6-way adjustable, while the passenger seat is 4-way adjustable. The driver seat can be adjusted electrically and comes with a memory feature. It also has manual lumbar support. Rear seats come with an armrest and cupholder and can be split 60/40 to increase boot space.

The MG Marcel R has one button start/stop feature and supports keyless entry as well as remote locking. The D-shaped leather-wrapped steering wheel can be adjusted in 4 ways and has multifunction switches. The 12.3-inch virtual instrument cluster displays all the essential information about the vehicle. A 19.4-inch centre touchscreen console provides access to the car’s interactive controls. It supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, radio and provides access to the car’s iSmart functions.

The MG app can be used as a remote to control the car, and it also monitors the car’s situation in real-time.

Engine

The electric SUV comes powered with a 132 kW lithium-ion battery pack and three electric motors. The system produces 132 kW horsepower and 410 Nm of torque. The MG Marvel R can go from 0-100km/h in just 4.9 seconds.

Mileage

A fully charged MG Marvel R can go up to 402 kilometres of range. The battery takes 7 hours to get charged completely and 25 minutes in fast charging.

Competitor
