Peugeot Car Models Prices & Pictures in Pakistan

Following the incumbent government’s move to impose 25% General Sales Tax (GST) on luxury items the local car assembler started passing on the effect to the customers which in turn, will shatter their purchasing power. After the Kia Lucky Motors hike their car prices, Peugeot Pakistan took the turn – increase the price of Peugeot 2008. And as expected, other local car assemblers are all set to inch up their prices in a day or two. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) issued a new sales tax notification under SRO 297(1)/2023 confirming this new tax today. But, some vehicles that were not 1400cc cars are also facing this tax application. This tax slab included all locally assembled 1400cc and above cars, but the important thing to notice was that the locally manufactured or assembled SUVs and CUVs, even the ones with engine displacement lower than 1400cc were included and that is why we were expecting a new price hike. And as expected it happened today Peugeot 2008 prices have been increased. Here are the new prices of Peugeot 2008 variants New Price of Peugeot 2008 Here are the new prices of both variants. The new price of Peugeot 2008 Active variant is Rs. 6,840,000 compared to Rs. 6,450,000. Means, it has observed a hike of Rs. 390,000. Meanwhile, the Peugeot 2008 Allure variant will now cost Rs. 7,580,000 instead of Rs. 7,150,000. This variant observed an increase of Rs. 430,000. Today’s hot news is that the government has imposed a flat 25% GST on locally assembled 1400cc and above cars. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) issued a new sales tax notification under SRO 297(1)/2023 confirming this new tax today. But, some vehicles that are not 1400cc cars are also facing this tax application. Let’s see which cars these are. General Sales Tax On Cars This tax slab includes all locally assembled 1400cc and above cars, locally manufactured or assembled SUVs and CUVs, and locally manufactured/assembled double cabin (4×4) pickup vehicles. Even though these cars are not included in the 1400cc category, they will still be slapped with this tax, and their prices will be hiked! Tax on Toyota Revo All variants of Toyota Revo will be taxed with the new GST, and their new prices will be higher. According to our estimate, the new prices with the 25% GST are expected to be as follows. REVO G Auto 2.8 is expected to have a new price of Rs. 12,424,000. REVO V Auto 2.8 is expected to have a new price of Rs. 13,738,000. According to our calculations, REVO G 2.8 M/T may now cost Rs. 11,847,000. Similarly, Hilux E is also a variant of the Toyota Revo and may now cost Rs. 10,928,000. Lastly, the new price of Revo Rocco is expected to be Rs14,486,000. Tax on Peugeot 2008 Sadly, for the fans of Peugeot 2008, this vehicle will now also be taxed according to the FBR. As per our estimates, the new price of Peugeot 2008 Active may be Rs. Rs6,833,000. On the other hand, its other variant, Peugeot 2008 Allure, may soon cost Rs. Rs7,574,000. Tax on KIA Stonic Another beloved car that took the hit with this news is KIA Stonic. Both of its variants will now cost a lot more due to the new tax imposition. KIA Stonic EX may now cost a whopping Rs. 5,191,000, whereas its sister variant, the KIA Stonic EX+, may now have a price tag of Rs. 5,720,000. What are your views on this new tax? With depreciating economic graphs, the car price hike series in the country is also in full swing. After months, the local car assemblers are increasing car prices twice a week. Following Hyundai, Peugeot Pakistan took the turn – inched up the price of Peugeot 2008 for the second time in the last 7 days. The company has increased the price of its crossover SUV up to whopping Rs. 500,000. Earlier on 21 February, Peugeot 2008 observed a price jump of up to Rs. 57000 in the face of GST hiked up by 1%. New Price of Peugeot 2008 Here are the new prices of both variants. The new price of Peugeot 2008 Active variant is Rs. 6,450,000 compared to Rs. 5,959,000. Means, it has observed a hike of Rs. 500,000. Meanwhile, the Peugeot 2008 Allure variant will now cost Rs. 7,150,000 instead of Rs. 6,656,000. This variant observed an increase of Rs. 494,000. It is pertinent to mention that the above are new Ex-factory prices. The auto industry has been very unstable for the last couple of years due to increase rate of the US dollar against the rupee, a ban on imports, increase in freight charges, and last but not least, no LCs by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). These issues have led to non-production days in the auto industry, while the latest report revealed that over 250,000 people had lost their jobs in the industry. Just yesterday, three companies including Kia Lucky Motors, Peugeot Pakistan and Hyundai Nishat increased the prices once again citing PKR depreciation and GST increase. However, it is pertinent to mention that these companies have already hiked the rates citing the same reasons a week ago. These continuous hikes will further harm the market and especially consumers and their buying power and the government needs to take steps immediately to counter this problem.
